PRACTICE AREAS

What we can do for you

ADVICE

Genuine, practical and useful advice on all aspects of the NEC.  We have loads real life operating experience, it means we understand the practicalities and know how to operate the NEC.  We advise clients daily on all aspect however big or small. Get in touch, a call takes 5 minutes, there is no obligation or hard sell.

TRAINING

Our training classes are world leading. We teach what you need to know and don't just stand in front of you regurgitating the contract.  Our trainers are down to earth straight-talking people, they know the roles that you staff perform because they have been there and done that.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

COMPLIANCE

We advice you on processes, notices, early warnings, instructions and every operating element of the NEC. A genuinely invaluable service, the NEC is a contract of processes, get one step wrong and you loose entitlement

CONTRACT REVIEW

We hardly ever see standard NEC contracts these days. The Employer (Client in NEC4) always amends the standard form.  Don't ask your lawyer to review contracts for you, they over complicate, they sit on the fence and they frequently fail to provide the simple no nonsense advise that you need.  If you haven't built dozens of construction projects (lawyers usually have not) you simply cannot understand the risk, we have, and so we do.

We have managed numerous disputes to conclusion.  Our preferred approach is something that is perhaps unusual, we call it "tactical communication".  There is usually a route to resolving disputes without adjudication and we firmly believe in avoiding formal dispute resolution. We play "gentle" and we play "hard", we won't kill relationships, we will resolve your dispute.

OUR VISION

NEC TRAINING

We have been in your shoes, we have operated dozens of construction projects under the NEC at commercial director and commercial manager levels, we have years of hands-on experience.

Some NEC trainers are just reading from a book, we have heard of a firm of lawyers that had sold an NEC training course and had to get an associate of ours to teach their staff  so they could deliver the course! What an absolute joke.

You can pay someone to read the contract back to you (and call it training), or you can pay someone that knows how it works on the ground and how to make it work for you.

One course is not enough.

We do offer an introduction course, we run through all aspects of the NEC. It is not enough, it is impossible t get into the detail in one day.

We also know that you do not have all the time in the world for training, you have projects to deliver.  To that end, we have designed an effective series of training modules that get the job done without taking your staff away from the job for too long.
